Paul Taylor, MHACG Director of Development & Communications, accepts donation at Grand Opening of the new Stewarts location.
In a heartwarming display of community spirit and excitement, the grand opening of the newly rebuilt Stewart's Shops at 705 Route 23B in Catskill was marked by a generous donation to MHA of Columbia Greene.
The ribbon cutting ceremony held on Friday, September 13th, was attended by local community members, town and county officials, and representatives from both Stewart's and MHACG.
Throughout the event, Stewart's provided free ice cream and coffee, along with many deals on gas and items in the store. Directly off of the New York State Thruway exit 21, the location is a welcomed addition to the area.
Following the ribbon cutting, Stewart's presented a check for $1,500 to Paul Taylor, the Director of Development and Communications at MHACG. The donation will support programming through MHACG's REACH Center and Child Advocacy Center in providing vital assistance to the community.
Mr. Taylor expressed heartfelt thanks, stating, "On behalf of MHA of Columbia Greene and our REACH Center and Child Advocacy Center, we are incredibly thankful for the support of organizations such as Stewart's Shops here, providing support back to the community, and the investment in our local organizations."
Stewart's Shops contributes up to $9 million toward local organizations each year and has been a fantastic supporter of MHACG's sponsored National Night Out events in August each year, donating loads of delicious ice cream treats for the community.
